MySQL is a DBMS in its own that maybe could replace Progress for this
web application, but I don't get the impression that this is what you
want ...  It has no functions to access other DBs.

Note, that from PHP you easily can access every database that has an
ODBC interface (additionally to some direct proprietary DB interfaces).
Most probably this is possible with Progress, too?!
