RE: ambiguous results on connect

Juan,

I am having the *EXACT* same problem and cannot figure it out for the life 
of me.  I cannot connect via the ASP page (same connection error you are 
getting), but can connect when I "test the data source" in IIS.  I also have 
SQLyog, where I can connect to the mySQL db and view the data within it.

I'm currently running Win2K with IIS 5.0.  I tried my ASP page on two 
Windows XP machines (IIS 5.1 I believe) and it worked!  I haven't fully tied 
this down being an OS issue or necessarily an IIS issue.  The two XP 
machines have admin privileges on our network and I think that may have 
something to do with it.  However, I supposedly have the same privileges as 
well, which leads me to believe this could be some sort of permissions error 
within IIS possibly.

If anyone else has any ideas, please share them.  This has been driving me 
crazy!  :)
