Subject:Re: Access 2000 ODBC - MyODBC to MySQL can't export ANY tables
View as plain text
I sent Microsoft a bug report on Access 2000 not being able
to export tables to MySQL with MyODBC. Here is their
reply...

Hi Bill,

I apologize. I had not heard of a Product called MySql or
MyOdbc so I though
you were using these terms generically.

Microsoft has not tested these products with Access 2000 as
yet so there is no
information in the database about anyproduct issues.

Has the developer of MySql or MyOdbc certified these
products as being
compatible with Access 2000? If not, it may be possible that
this
configuration is not supported by anyone. Typically,
third-party vendors test
their productswith the products they are intended to work
with and have
information on applicability, product patches and updates,
and workarounds.
The vendor of MyOdbc may be aware of a solution to this
issue.

Access 2000 has recently had upgrades. Two components that
have been upgraded
that *may* effect this issue is the JET Engine and the
Microsoft Data Access
Components (MDAC).

There is a Knowledge Base article, Q239114: ACC2000: Updated
Version of
Microsoft Jet 4.0 Available on MSL, that contains
information on how to
download Jet 4.0 SP3 and MDAC 2.12. This can be located on
the internet at:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q239/1/14.a
sp

I cannot guarantee that these updates will resolve your
issue, but they are the
latest product updates available at this time.

If this does not address your issue, then you may want to
periodically check
the Knowledge Base for product updates. If any articles
become available on
these products, they will be available in theKnowledge base
by searching on
the product names.
