it should be no problem to use SAPDB on SuSE Linux 8.0.
But if you would like to test a new RPM of SAPDB which was built from
source on SuSE Linux 8.0 you could test the packages from
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/stark/sapdb/7.3.0.25/8.0-i386/
The only thing to mention together with these packages is, that you have
to give /opt/sapdb/depend/pgm/dbmsrv and /opt/sapdb/depend/pgm/lserver
the setuid-bit.
(chmod 4755 /opt/sapdb/depend/pgm/dbmsrv /opt/sapdb/depend/pgm/lserver)
You need a user who is in the group sapdb to create/run databases.
