WebTools, Apache fails with message undefined symbol: fstat

SuSE 8.0, Apache 1.36
Adding the LoadModule entry for the Web Tools to httpd.conf  and restarting
apache i get the
following error message:

Cannot load /usr/sapdb/web/lib/mod_fastcgi.so into server:
/usr/sapdb/web/lib/mod_fastcgi.so: undefined symbol: fstat
++++++++++++++

and the restart of the apache fails

i dont know how to fix

:-(

hope that somebody can help me so that i will find my smile again
