yes I solved all my problems today, though I do not understand how
ODBC is in general configured under Unix in a good way.

Actually I also did not use a driver manager, but use the library
directly.

We were able to port our application within three days from Windows
to Solaris. The SAP-DB part was working out of the box - I used the
32bit databases and only used the client part to connect against a
SAP-DB Linux database and a Windows based SAP-DB.


Very sursprising and nice to see, that it work without problems. The
result can be seen here (Windows and Solaris clients):

I'll will have another look at Linux and HP-UX (if I can get my old
machine to run HP-UX 10.20).
