hi,
delete registry keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SAP DBTech-.*
and these services will disappear.
an easier way is to call "dbmcli -R <dependent_path> inst_unreg" but your software
is already removed. :-(
hth,
daniel

Subject: Uninstall SAPDB on Win2K - HELP!
I installed SAPDB on win2k, and the install failed. I posted to this list about that and
didn't recieve any responses. I need to uninstall SAPDB now, as it is obviously not going
to be easy to work with, or even explore. Now I find out that it's also difficult to
uninstall.
I looked around on this list and found a few notes about uninstalling like these:
- type at command line "x_server remove"
- delete sapdb folders (c:\program files\sapdb\...)
- delete registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\SAP DBTech"
and
1. remove all SAP DB instances (db_drop)
2. remove services: "Xserver", "SAPDB: .*"
3. remove registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\SAP DBTech"
4. delete SAP DB folders (e.g. c:\program files\sapdb)
5. clean up system environment PATH (remove SAP DB directories)
Those instructions are incomplete or inaccurate.
I never had any sap db instances, so that is irrelevant.
I have removed Xserver; however I cannot seem to remove the SAPDB: _ESAPDBD service. No
matter what I type, like
remove SAPDB: _ESAPDBD or
remove SAPDB: .*
remove "SAPDB: .*"
I get an error: "'remove' is not recognized as an i
operable program or batch file."
So that's probably the main hangup.
I've booted into safe mode an removed my sapdb install dir; but that didn't help. I also
removed 2 SAP hives in the registry.
Can someone please help me exit stage left from my experiment with this database?
