Migrating RPM based installs from 7.3 to 7.4, how?

Since I cannot use SDBUPD, how do I migrate my 7.3 database instances to 7.4?

I've created a complete (with checkpoint) backup, then upgraded the RPMs to 7.4

I think 7.3 is still there, but there doesn't seem to be an "easy" way to do the 
migration.

What I really wanted to do was move a database from a server running 7.3 to a new 
server running 7.4, but restoring the backup gave me the -111 error.

So I went back and installed 7.4 on the source server and I'm still no better off. sigh.

suggestion .. would be nice to have a tool to do instance data migration for RPM 
based users in the future.
