about the parallel slave project, any news and details?

This project seems to have lasted for quite a time. Are there any news
since the pre-beta?

And I would like to know more about how the parallel slave is
implemented. How does it guarantee that the parallel executed bin-log
statements are independent? Is it possible that two statements are
modifying the same row, and their order are messed up by parallel
execution?
