Hi, Jeff.  Please use the list mysql@stripped for
asking questions about using MySQL.  The internals list is
for discussions about the MySQL code itself (e.g., adding
a new feature, fixing a bug, etc.).

P.S.  Try making a temporary table with just the item id and
the max date, and then doing a separate query against that table
to get the matching prices.
