Joerg, if sql-bench is not any useful, why not just skip packing that stuff, always. Instead of reintroducing unuseful option, that one will still have to port to CMake? > An associated comment from a changeset done > on 2009-Nov-29 by Mr. Widenius reads.. Quite sure Monty has already gone at that time. > -----Original Message----- > From: Joerg.Bruehe@stripped [mailto:Joerg.Bruehe@stripped] > Sent: Tuesday, February 09, 2010 12:41 PM > To: MySQL Internals > Subject: Cleanup proposal: Is the "sql-bench" subtree still useful in > binary packages? > > Hi everybody! > > > In the context of a cleanup in our build scripts, especially the "spec" > files for RPMs, I have come across the "sql-bench" subtree. > > > Until MySQL version 5.0, it was possible to do > configure ... --without-bench ... > and to exclude that subtree from binary packages, and this was used in > many configurations. > > > In version 5.1, this option was removed, and "sql-bench" is now always > mentioned in "Makefile.am".
