MySql coding style: Request for change regarding argument naming

"When arguments do not fit on one line, consider renaming them."

Are we actually encouraging the use of short, obfuscated names
in order to save some space in function declarations?
(We are actually recommending long names for readability a bit later,
in Naming Conventions.)
