It never hurts to fill in a bug report,
and you'll get email updates too.
May be it will turn out to be not very useful, but then you'll know - in
the bugreport - what to watch (for example, if we'll get a worklog task
created, you'll have an url, you could subscribe to).

You may want to "watch" http://forge.mysql.com/worklog/task.php?id=4739
it's about rewriting headers, although not exactly what you need but a
huge step in that direction.
