The Federated docs are currently in the process of being updated (I
recently extended some of the info, particularly with the CREATE
SERVER extensions added in 5.1. Storage Engines fall under my area of
responsibility (among many others!).

We have no direct contribution agreement in place for the
documentation side (although it is something being worked on), and no
way for you to access and update the documentation directly. However,
feel free to supply me directly with any corrections/enhancements,
and I'll see what I can do. I already have your articles on file as a
reference source.
