Thanks! That surely makes fixing the bug as trivial as applying the
patch, you did all the hard work :)
I'd personally prefer the first solution (don't look into dbug/
at all). Anyway I found a similar bug in the bugdb, and added your
comment there. See http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=14420
