Subject:BIT datatype and the Prepared protocol

It seems that there's something wrong with the BIT datatype and the
prepared protocol.

When the server is in SQL STRICT mode, there's - apparently - no
way to pass a BIT(1) (for example) value to the server side.

Can someone confirm this?
