> We use gcc 2.95 and recommend that you downgrade you gcc to 2.95.
I've restarted the whole procedure with GCC 3.0.2 compiled from sources and
it works like a charm. The only difference now is the compiler and the C++
libs that come with it so it's pretty clear the core dump was a GCC 2.96
glitch. No wonder there's no stable 2.96 version on the GCC site.
