Hi, I read in http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/innodb-multiple-tablespaces.html that using the innodb_file_per_table will help to reclaim space when a mysql database grows too large, even though actual data has been deleted from it. I am using mysql/innodb with dbmail and need to find a better way to manage disk space. My question is: will the command OPTIMIZE TABLE actually shrink the .idb file? Thanks, Dirce Richards Systems Engineer GlobalCerts, Inc.
