I have been using it on and off from the start - it works "good enough" - just
have to remember to save often.

but .debs make it easier, just like all the gui tools make it easier to do
something that could be done using the CLI.
And more consistent.
And I would assume eventually packages will be created for the 'popular' package
manager/distros: apt, rpm, gentoo, slack. The sooner someone starts working on
a .deb, the sooner I can start testing it.
To some degree it will be more work for me. but I have found it better than
using pen and paper or DB4. As long as it doesn't create more work for someone
else, it seems like a reasonable thing to hope for.
