Subject:Why was lu0009 and nehalem-1 dying?
View as plain text

lu0009 and nehalem-1 are running stable again. Both had the same problem
but nehalem-1 had hardware and BIOS problems on top of it.

* BIOS and hardware was upgraded on nehalem-1.
* The Ubuntu Linux kernel running on lu0009 and nehalem-1 had a bug:
"RAID array causing "BUG: soft lockup" errors/system freeze"

After updating Ubuntu to 9.04 and getting a newer kernel, the softraid
problem is gone.
