The first response to this thread was sent privately which was not my 
original intention.  I still need to get the hang of Thunderbird, it seems.

What are the permissions on the 'eventum' directory itself?  What does 
an 'ls -ld' on that directory show?

What about the one right above the 'eventum' directory?

My guess is that the webserver does not have the correct permissions on 
the 'eventum' directory or its parent directory.
