For small sizes, files saved into the database are OK, but for filesbigger than 1MB, 
wouldn't it be better to save them in the file system (blocked direct access via http,
but accesed via php proxy for authentication/authorization)?

This may be a timeout in SQL. I have seen this before, not with Eventum, but with another
application. I'll have a look in my archived emails and get back later.

We are getting closer. I can now upload files larger than 1mb but they
must be smaller than 10mb, php.ini is set at 225mb and my.ini
max_allowed_packet=225mb. But yet I can not upload larger than 10mb,
actually the largest I have uploaded is 8.0mb.
