Eventum does release its connections when done sending emails. What you
might be seeing here is a restriction on the part of your ISP's SMTP
server that limits the number of emails you may send within a set period
I would get in touch with them to see how you can lift that limit, or
remove it altogether.

Subject: Problems with emailsending
I am experiencing some problems with Eventum sending out emails
from the system, emails like receipt and new ticket being generated.
We have started utilizing Eventum more and more, and perhaps it
is the amount of emails being sent out from the system that is causing
errors, from perhaps 2-3 a day we are now getting 20-30 emails per day.
The error log tells me that Eventum is unable to connect to
smpt.bluecom.no, our ISP's outgoing emailserver.
If I telnet to this server I get this error:
421 smtp.bluecom.no Error: too many connections from
Connection to host lost.
Somehow it seems that Eventum doesn't release it's connections
when done sending emails, thus creating a backlog off emails waiting to
Any tips on how I can resolve this issue?
