Need help with Connection

I am using MySQL 4.1.9 on a network server and connector/net 4.1.

 

When I create a connection and call Open(), the connection time takes
about .15 seconds. This is extremely slow.

 

I saw this problem mentioned else where in the list, but no resolution.
I was wondering if anyone can help me create a work around.

 

Is there anything that can be done in the connection string or in the
connection object that could help?
