The connection string does indeed have to be 100% identical. However, I
tried to point out that the connection string is indeed 100% identical.
The only source for the connection string comes from what I had posted,
with the variables being set only once and never again touched (I think
they may actually be const's).

studying for a Cert Test, I read that with the SqlClient for SQL Server,
there is a requirement that connection strings have to be identical
(including user id and password) in order to be considered for an

pool. Does a similar requirement exist for the MySql Connector/Net ?

Still no help actually solving the problem, but I've always found it
helpful
with the dotnet connector to use the source rather than the binary
version.
Adding the project to your solution is simple, and it means that you
have
much more visibility into what's going on.
