VC++ 2010 MySQL Server 5.1 Client Source Code/getString() Exception, getInt() works fine

Hi,

I'm having trouble with res->getString(). It's breaking , giving an
exception.
res->getInt() works fine though!

I was told that if compile the source code for the MySQL Client you can get
around this problem. I can't find this source code anywhere on the site or
on
my local drive after installing the MySQL server.

Any and all help is appreciated.
