From: Date: January 5 2007 12:00pm Subject: bk commit into 5.0 tree (gkodinov:1.2366) BUG#15881 List-Archive: http://lists.mysql.com/commits/17656 X-Bug: 15881 Message-Id: <20070105110049.35006AF6F4F@macbook.gmz> Below is the list of changes that have just been committed into a local 5.0 repository of kgeorge. When kgeorge does a push these changes will be propagated to the main repository and, within 24 hours after the push, to the public repository. For information on how to access the public repository see http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/installing-source-tree.html ChangeSet@stripped, 2007-01-05 13:00:32+02:00, gkodinov@stripped +3 -0 Bug #15881: cast problems The optimizer removes expressions from GROUP BY/DISTINCT if they happen to participate in a = predicates of the WHERE clause (the idea being that if it's always equal to a constant it can't have multiple values). However for predicates where the expression and the constant item are of different result type this is not valid (e.g. a string column compared to 0). Fixed by additional check of the result types of the expression and the constant and if they differ the expression don't get removed from the group by list. mysql-test/r/distinct.result@stripped, 2007-01-05 13:00:24+02:00, gkodinov@stripped +37 -0 Bug #15881: cast problems - test case mysql-test/t/distinct.test@stripped, 2007-01-05 13:00:25+02:00, gkodinov@stripped +21 -0 Bug #15881: cast problems - test case sql/sql_select.cc@stripped, 2007-01-05 13:00:26+02:00, gkodinov@stripped +36 -2 Bug #15881: cast problems - can't use = to remove GROUP BY/DISTINCT cols if they're not of the same type. # This is a BitKeeper patch. What follows are the unified diffs for the # set of deltas contained in the patch.
