Do you know if the earlier backup process has finished? I had a similar
problem some times ago and just restarted ndb_mgmd to fix it.

# check actual backup status
ndb_mgm> ALL REPORT BackupStatus

# restart ndb_mgmd
ndb_mgm> node_id RESTART

# try to backup it again
ndb_mgm> START BACKUP
