I have, but not with ndbd --initial. Did you use --initial?
Next steps (in order) that I intend to try (only the first can be done without downtime):
- ndbd --initial/rolling restart
- full shutdown/startup
- full shutdown/ndbd --initial/ndb_restore
- mysqldump
