It is the restart of the management node first then rolling node restart with --initial. The --initial option will clean up all the old data node files and thus will reclaim your disk space. As I said in another post, I suspect that you did not restart the management node first before doing the rolling restart of data nodes with --initial. Regards, Anatoly.
