Subject:11 Aug 2004, can't restart a node
View as plain text
Hi,
I pulled this morning and now am seeing something odd - I start up the
cluster with -i to get a fresh start, and everything is ok. Without
doing *anything* else, I restart a node by issuing '21 restart' (21 is
my first db node right now). Node 21 goes down and starts back up, but
hangs in phase 3. There is no error log. The log file on node 21 has
only this in it:

2004-08-11 17:28:10 [NDB] INFO -- Angel pid: 7381 ndb pid: 7382
2004-08-11 17:28:10 [NDB] INFO -- NDB Cluster -- DB node 21
2004-08-11 17:28:10 [NDB] INFO -- Version 3.5.0 (beta) --
2004-08-11 17:28:10 [NDB] INFO -- Start initiated (version 3.5.0)
2004-08-11 17:28:45 [NDB] INFO -- Started (version 3.5.0)
[ right here is where I issue the restart command ]
2004-08-11 17:34:24 [NDB] INFO -- Node shutdown initiated
Restarting system
2004-08-11 17:34:34 [NDB] INFO -- Ndb has terminated (pid 7382)
restarting
2004-08-11 17:34:37 [NDB] INFO -- Angel pid: 7381 ndb pid: 7405
2004-08-11 17:34:37 [NDB] INFO -- NDB Cluster -- DB node 21
2004-08-11 17:34:37 [NDB] INFO -- Version 3.5.0 (beta) --
2004-08-11 17:34:37 [NDB] INFO -- Start initiated (version 3.5.0)

I wait 10 minutes and nothing happens.... Same thing happens when I try
to restart any other node.
