Hello again,
The MaxDB Library has been given a general overhaul. It can be read online and downloaded
at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/index.html.
In addition to the updates necessary due to changed software functions, several
improvements were made:
* The new manual 'Glossary' explains important MaxDB terms and points you to the relevant
information in other parts of the documentation. Therefore, it is a good entry point for
quickly locating the topics you are interested in.
(See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/en/7e/c3fb0e72fcf84580f7ee9fcec672b7/frameset.htm)
* Refer to the manual 'Concepts of the Database System' for in-depth background
information on the database system.
(See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/en/79/44b2565cfb594286e2d1b3bdf7d1d9/frameset.htm)
* For beginners, we have written the new 'SQL Tutorial'. Based on a easily installable
DEMO database you can step by step fill your database instance with data using SQL
statements.
(See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/en/98/11b83fa6b33c17e10000000a114084/frameset.htm)
* The new SQLCLI database tool for executing SQL queries on the command line is described
in the SQLCLI Manual.
(See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/en/98/11b83fa6b33c17e10000000a114084/frameset.htm)
* The following documentation has been considerably improved:
--> Database Manager CLI
--> Database Manager GUI
--> Development Environment
* Note: The documentation for the new MaxDB PHP software extension is available separately
and can be downloaded in pdf format at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/maxdb/interfaces.html.
